Vineyards and Discoveries Label

New recognition in 2020, the vineyard receives the Vignobles & Découvertes label. A landmark and a guarantee of welcome and sharing for visitors fond of wine tourism. With extended opening times and periods or even a real discovery of wine estates with wine tasting included, professionals of the Côte Roannaise are committed to better promote their productions and their know-how.

Since 1994, the vineyard of the Côte Roannaise is distinguished by a Controlled Designation of Origin. The hillside stretches for 20 kilometers west of Roanne, a fertile land for rows of vines. Under the hands of the winegrowers, red wines and a few rosés and whites are born, made from Gamay grapes. We say gourmet red wines, and we raise their peppery notes.

What is the Vignobles & Découvertes label?

Created in 2009, Atout France awards the Vignobles & Découvertes label for a period of 3 years, after recommendation of the Superior Council of Wine Tourism. It is given to a tourist and wine-growing destination. This destination must offer a wide range of complementary tourist products (accommodation, catering, cellar visits and tastings, museums, events, etc.). It must allow the customer to facilitate the organization of his stay and to orient him on qualified services.

Committed actors

Across the two territories of Forez and Roannais, more than 60 players are involved in the Vignobles et Découvertes label. Cellars, accommodation providers, restaurants, tourist sites, leisure activities… all are keen to promote their destinations through this label. The Roanne tourist office is also committed to the labeling process.

A common label: Forez & Roannais

In December 2019, the Loire Tourism Development Agency (Loire Tourism) nominated by two Loire regions to obtain the national label Vignobles et Découvertes.

Under the title “Forez and Roannais, at the roots of the Loire”, the ambition is clearly displayed. This destination corresponds to 1^er vineyard crossed by the Loire from its source to go up towards its estuary in Nantes. It cannot be relocated. It enjoys its own identity, its unusual landscapes, its riches linked to its land… not to mention its women and men who embody it.

Vineyards & Discoveries label: A guarantee of quality

The Vignobles et Découvertes label is a recognition of the quality of wines, products and local know-how. By integrating this recognized national approach, the Roannais benefits from greater visibility and therefore notoriety.
