Among the curiosities worthy of interest that La Pacaudière has, we must first mention the Petit Louvre. A building classified as a historic monument since 1932, its gigantic roof has attracted the gaze of travelers on the Grand Chemin Royal from Paris to Lyon, which has become Nationale 7 since the XNUMXth century.

This magnificent construction, in Renaissance and Gothic styles, must have been built in the early years of the 1th century. The Petit Louvre would have been a hunting lodge for the Constable of Bourbon or François XNUMXer but more likely its primary destination would be a post office (Information Les Amis du Petit Louvre).
Grand Logis Royal, it served as a place of reception for prestigious guests including François 1er in 1536, who came to take possession of Forez. Many other kings and famous people stopped there and it was at the Petit Louvre that Richelieu learned in September 1622 that he was raised to the Cardinalate.
Inside we discover a large number of graffiti, the oldest of which bears the date of 1534, painted walls, XNUMXth and XNUMXth century fireplaces.
