It's official ! We can definitely say that the summer holidays are over! After spending your summer enjoying the heat, going out or working (to each their own point of view), the start of the school year is just around the corner. The daily routine will slowly resume and my advice will help you make it easier! Here we go to reveal to you my 5 good plans for students, tested and approved!
Good tip #1: Being anti-waste, while being a student is possible!
Too good to go or even Phoenix are applications that allow you to buy anti-waste baskets in all partner stores. With baskets ranging from €3.99 (value €12) to €8.99 (value €18), you can have excellent products (bakeries, supermarkets, butchers, market gardeners, etc.) 50% cheaper! The price difference is due to the very short expiration date.
How does it work ?
- Download the application and create an account,
- Choose a service provider where you wish to collect your anti-waste basket,
- Pay online,
- Collect your basket within the allotted times.
In addition to being able to eat healthily and locally, you can make local businesses work. SO ? Didn't I tell you it was possible?
Good tip #2: Use public transport, even in the evening!
How obvious, you would say to me, few students can afford the luxury of owning a car, and then we also have to think about the planet! The problem with public transport is that evening outings are often very complicated, you can easily get there but the return is difficult or even impossible! And that’s where my tip comes in: do you know Star Flexy? This service of STAR network, is a transport service by reservation. It allows you to replace city buses from 5 a.m. until midnight! In other words, have a drink, go to the restaurant or catching a late night at the cinema has never been easier!
How it works ?
- Telephone 04 77 72 77 27 (Monday to Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 19:00 p.m., and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 13:30 p.m. to 18:00 p.m.),
- Internet via the online reservation platform,
- The MyMobi application, available on Smartphone Android ou IOS.
Reservations are required up to 1 hour before your daytime outing (except Sundays and public holidays) depending on vehicle availability. With this, no more excuses for not joining your friends in the evening!
PS: take advantage of it on the weekend, it's free! 😉
Good tip #3: Speaking of cinema…
If you love going to the cinema, but you limit yourself because the prices are not always very attractive, here is my tip, which allowed me to go see good films without breaking the bank. At Grand Palais cinema in Roanne (bus stop: Multiplexe bus 2,3,4; Phénix bus 1), you can take advantage of student rates. By taking your places online, the price is €7.40 instead of €10 full price (i.e. 26% reduction). For an even more advantageous price, you can also go to the cinema on Sunday morning, at a single price: €5,70. Enough to update your cinematographic culture!
Good tip #4: Travel without counting
Travel, yes, you read that right! It's not because you're a student that you don't have the right to dream of traveling. And thanks to my little tip, you will be able to travel while remaining reasonable on your expenses.
Tip #1: the illico Solidaire SNCF card
This free card valid for 1 year, allows you to travel by train throughout the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes network by train and bus of the SNCF. You have a 75% reduction on your train tickets to go on vacation with peace of mind. And to go to your job interviews, the ticket is free! The condition is as follows: be a student on a work-study contract: professionalization contract or apprenticeship contract. With that, no more hesitation to clear your mind!
Tip #2: the SNCF illico Libertés Jeunes card
Don't worry, we won't forget you for non-study students. You too are entitled to your card: The illico youth freedom card. It also allows you to travel across the entire SNCF Auvergne Rhône-Alpes network by train and bus, with half-price tickets! The card costs €15, valid for 1 year and pays off in the blink of an eye. The only condition is to be under 26, so ready to go?
Good tip #5: Shopping as if you could afford it
Who doesn't want to make and redo their wardrobe, at a lower cost to be trendy any season of the year? Of course you can take advantage of the clearance sales organized regularly for local traders. pedestrian de Roanne. But for fashion victims I have several solutions!
Tip #1: second-hand applications
You have probably already heard of Vinted, Of pop or even The good corner ? These increasingly trendy applications allow you to buy second-hand clothes at ridiculous prices. By looking a little, you can find a gem at a low price!
Tip #2: second hand stores
If you prefer to try on your clothes before buying them, I have some addresses that may please you and your wallet!
- Barter St-Louis in Roanne: located on Quai du Renaison (Saint Louis stop, line 3), it is the ideal place to find second-hand items in excellent condition. The store also does consignment sales, great for sorting and sharing with others.
- La Fripe in Le Coteau: If you cross the Loire bridge between Roanne and Le Coteau, and walk a few meters (Pont-Loire stop, line 2), you will come across this thrift store which offers a wide choice of second-hand clothes. Go take a look, you won't be disappointed!
