Immersed in the Sensitive Natural Areas (ENS), timeless worlds, and experience exceptional moments. The surprise will be to discover a plant, to see a wild animal or a herd in this bocage landscape from Roannais to the Monts de la Madeleine.
Let's start with the latest one: theSensitive Natural Area of Crêts in Neaux
Guided by an aviator, reach a plateau where, after enjoying the panoramic view, rest and relaxation will be in order. There, also awaits you the path of the sailors.
Let's talk about the Grand now, not in age but in altitude
Blown away by the view, Puy du Montoncel, culmination of the ENS des Black Woods, you will be in union with the nature of this forest massif which is one of the oldest in Europe. It is the cradle of the largest mountain bike/FFC area in France “Destination Great Air”, by the elevation and the technique it offers.
Real reservoirs of freshness
The Sensitive Natural Area of Lespinasse in Vivans is the only large group of plain forests (chênaie-hornbeam) in the Loire. It is comparable to the forests of Bourbonnais and the Paris basin. A Grand Couvert, reminiscent of the drying of tiles and bricks, opens its doors to entertainment.
Don't forget your binoculars!
The ENS of Bird Gravel in Mably, was mined for sand and gravel. Visit it interactively, helping Odine solve the mysteries of the aquatic environments on the banks of the Loire. At the ENS of Great Murcins in Arcon, Odin will tell you about this forest and its arboretum. The arboretum has a collection of 250 life-size trees. Site accessible to all thanks to the Handivisite application.

A true paradise, the Sensitive Natural Area of glass factory in Saint-Rirand
You will walk through a rich, little-known nature (peat bogs, moors, etc.). You will observe the migration of birds or you will determine the spiders which weave their webs there. This last mission will be proposed to you, by an Arachnologist, during the Meeting of the Monts de la Madeleine 2023, the first ENS festival in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
