The music festival: un festive event
The music festival invites you every year on June 21! Take to the streets to appreciate the musical culture of France and elsewhere. Since its creation in 1982, it has kept the same slogan: “Make music, Fête de la Musique”. Free concerts, support from SACEM, the media relay, the support of local authorities have made it in a few years, one of the great French cultural events!
This June evening is always loaded with good humor, festivities, singing, dancing ... The public moves around the city to discover the headliners but also young local talents.
There is something for all tastes and ages. This is the meaning of the music festival: to democratize all musical styles during an evening of sharing and celebration.
A solo concert, a group of musicians, a show, here is a panel of what you can discover around a city street during this evening!
A new place to host the 2024 music festival
A big first for this event which will benefit from a new location! The large concert stage will be installed on the new Bords de Loire 2 esplanade, the work on which will have recently been completed.
A new dynamic is therefore given to the music festival with an ideal place to host large-scale events in the heart of the city.
A colorful program on the Place de l'Hôtel de Ville
Christophe Willem headlines – 21 p.m.
With 1,5 million albums sold since his victory in the show Nouvelle Star in 2006 and a successful tour throughout France with his 5e opus, Christophe Willem, will be the flagship artist of the 2024 Music Festival.
Sound of Legend – 22:30 p.m.
Sound of Legend, and his masked superhero is the star DJ of the moment. The one who travels the world through clubs and festivals will transform the Bords de Loire 2 into giant dancefloor by mixing several styles, electronic sounds and legendary titles.
Roanne Young Talents – 18:30 p.m.
To start this flagship evening of the season, the winners of the 2023 edition of Roanne Jeunes Talents performed on the main stage of the Fête de la Musique. A chance for these 8-25 year olds to sing in the first part of confirmed artists !
The music festival is played throughout the city
Music is celebrated throughout the city and in all the districts of Roanne on Saturday June 17 and Wednesday June 21, a real music festival day. The Music Festival in Roannais

The music festival is a must for me and synonymous with summer, warmth, good humor and laughter. Being able to walk around the city to the sounds of the city, that's what I really love! To marvel at the talent of a guitarist, the voice of a soloist or the movement of dancers, that's the Fête de la Musique for me.
