To find inspiration to revamp your house, discover new techniques or acquire a few unique pieces to enhance your interior, meet the Craftsmen of the Crafts. The Roannais has in particular about twenty professional craftsmen grouped together in an association whose goal is to promote these men and women with golden fingers.

Who are they ?

Thanks to their know-how, they perpetuate traditions while offering a modern vision of their art. From a raw material such as earth, glass, porcelain, earthenware, wood, fabric…, craftsmen combine creativity and technique to create unique works.

Where to meet them?

Craftsmen regularly open the doors of their bubble to allow visitors to discover their creations. Through the Association des Métiers d'Art en Roannais, events bringing together members are offered to the public.

The history of AMAR

The Association des Métiers d'Art en Roannais has existed for more than 30 years. Its vocation is to promote the craftsmen of Roannais and their know-how. Through this association, the artisans who are members can work together on real common projects.

Creation of the book “Meeting Art Craftsmen”

In 2021, 15 craftsmen from the Association of Artisans des Métiers d'Art du Roannais (AMAR) embarked on the creation of a beautiful book entitled "Meeting craftsmen from Roannais".

Through the photos of Vincent Poillet, the texts of Dominique Senore and the layout of Aurélia Brivet, the book allows you to discover the workshops and the careers of these fifteen craftsmen.

It is on sale at the Roannais Tourist Office, at the price of 15 €.

Through this project, we want to promote craftsmen from AMAR but also from Roannais. We have self-published a book in which 15 illustrated portraits will be discovered. Each craftsman reveals his profession in an original interview with Dominique Sénore which is accompanied by an illustrated portrait with photos of him and his work taken by Vincent Poillet. It's a way of highlighting everyone's know-how, perpetuating traditions while offering a modern vision of their art. A great way to understand how these craftsmen combine creativity and technique from a raw material such as sandstone, leather, porcelain, earthenware, wood or even textiles, and create unique works.
