Glass, this bewitching material, reveals some of these secrets to you during the Glass Biennale, in a beautiful village full of character: Le Crozet. Enjoy a nice late summer outing and taste this meeting place for artistic creation in glass art. A beautiful moment of discoveries and exchanges with the artists.

August 24-25, 2024

Formerly in the Bourbonnais mountains and mounts of the Madeleine, the art of glassmaking flourished in the XNUMXth centurye century.
Le glassware plateau, natural site of Roannais, is the witness and bears this name in reference to the glassmakers who came to settle in Saint-Nicolas-des-Biefs. The region had everything it needed for this art: silica to make glass and forests to fuel the furnaces. The activity flourished until the Revolution.

In homage to this very particular art, the Syndicat d'Initiative du Crozet created a glassmakers' market in 2002 in this beautiful village full of character.
First a market and then a festival in 2011, in 2018 it became a glass biennial to respond to an organization and an ever richer and more interesting program for visitors.

2024 Edition: glass in nature and water

For the 19th edition, the association chose the theme of water and its different colors. This theme will punctuate this biennial.
So you will find workshops and conferences throughout the weekend:

  • Become an artist thanks to the creative workshop of Angélique and Norbert Tritschler,
  • Attend the marvelous ballet of glass blowing with a cane by Laurence Pellin and Sylvain Ferro,
  • Philippe Litou will make you think about respecting the environment: glass frosted by the sea, infinitely recyclable glass...

2 days dedicated to this material of glass and all the ways of working with it with emphasis on the theme of water and its colors.
