The creation of Domaine du Tafret was initiated in 2023.
Victor Lehuger today works 1,5 ha of vines in Saint-Haon-le-Vieux, thanks to Roannais Agglomération which gives him a short-term rental to launch his activity.
The “Tafret” hill is located between Le Crozet and La Pacaudière. It constitutes the northernmost zone of the Côte Roannaise appellation.
On these forgotten terroirs, Victor Lehuger wishes to revive the wine-growing heritage of these two villages by planting his entire vineyard using mass selection and respecting the specifications of organic farming.
Ultimately, he wants to work an area of 2 ha in order to carry out all the viticultural stages alone and conscientiously.
The harvest is carried out manually and is a moment of sharing and celebration.
It is also at Tafret that he is setting up his wine cellar where he will have his wines tasted.
In the cellar, Victor Lehuger works with native yeasts and restricts the viticultural inputs by using only sulphites and in small quantities.
Its elegant wines imbued with beautiful freshness transmit real emotion to the taster.
The 2023 range will consist of:
- a red wine from Gamay Saint-Romain, light and fruity
- a red wine from Gamay Saint-Romain, partially aged in demi-muid, elegant and delicate
- a white wine made from Chardonnay, mainly aged in barrels, fruity and ample
Victor Lehuger welcomes you to the estate by appointment and in 2024, his online store will allow access to his vintages.
