Past, present, future: the museum's collections were built around significant donations from collectors. The museum's acquisition policy in this area, very original in France, began in 1985.

The most recent brings together 174 contemporary ceramics by 53 ceramic and glass artists, mostly belonging to the generation born after the Second World War.
The great artists of enamel, sandstone, glazed terracotta, earthenware and sigillata will be presented...
Then the “bowl” object is highlighted in its historical (Roanne bowl) and current dimension.
Then ceramics becomes sculpture, breaking with decorative tradition, favoring the work of the material for what it is, creating new freedoms.
