A "garden of the Middle Ages" - "a garden of herbs".
The name "simple" comes from ancient times. The plants used for the care were very frequent and their absorption was generally in the form of herbal teas, poultices or inhalations. They were therefore "simple" remedies.
In the Middle Ages, each religious community had a garden in which medicinal plants were cultivated.
Short story
In 1996, a teacher from the primary school of St-Haon-le-Châtel organized for several years a work with his students around daily life in the Middle Ages.
Today
The medieval garden of St-Haon-le-Châtel is managed by very dynamic volunteers from the Friends of the Garden association.
Tours are organized and approached from different points of view: historical, food, medicinal and symbolic.
