With its large spaces, breeding meadows, groves, ponds and streams, St Romain la Motte with its very ancient origins now relies on green tourism.

All year, every day.

Watered by the streams of Fillerin and Oudan, St Romain la Motte is full of natural resources allowing an important agricultural activity, the breeding of Charolais cattle is perhaps still the most widespread. Other races are also increasingly present.
From East to West, the roads of Saint-Jacques de Compostelle invite themselves… with a stopover for pilgrims to meet the needs of these travelers.

Formerly a wine-growing village, Saint-Romain-la-Motte supplied the people of the Côte with grafts, which saved their vines from phylloxera, hence the name of the grape variety “Gamay Saint-Romain”. One of its winegrowers distinguished himself by sculpting in clay a work listed as a national heritage. Today, the Saint-Roman territory hosts more and more spaces dedicated to horses.
