Guided tours

All year, every day.

Located on a rocky peak at the foot of the Monts de la Madeleine, Saint-Haon-le-Châtel plunges the walker into more than 10 centuries of history and civilization: all you have to do is follow the route that makes us take the city walls in the XNUMXth century and discover the half-timbered houses of the Middle Ages, the Renaissance manors, the mansions of the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries, around the majestic Romanesque church, as well as in the suburbs old.

In Saint-Haon-le-Châtel, you will discover with astonishment and emotion architectures and exceptional places: not two houses, two streets, two similar sites, a real open-air museum, original and lively!

The Pelletier hotel:
Beautiful Renaissance residence built on one of the 17 towers of the ramparts. From the restored courtyard, where the original well remains, one admires a polygonal turret, adorned with yellow stone sculptures.

Middle Ages garden:
This garden will seduce you with its location in the heart of the medieval village. It was created in 1996 following a school project. Its current configuration of 1999 was established by the "Friends of the Garden of the Middle Ages". Panels allow a self-guided visit, access is free all year round and guided tours are organized by the Association.

The Church:
Built between 1166 and 1225 in gray granite from the region, it is Romanesque in style with lancet windows with numerous murals dating from the 2018th to XNUMXth centuries and a beam of glory, renovated in XNUMX.
