After the Priory, take the Chemin du Fort to arrive at this Roman stone bridge with three lowered arches and a triangle buttress. Built, no doubt, by the monks of the Priory of Pommiers, it was rebuilt around 1452.

Parking

All year, every day.

The bridge, over which passes the Grand Chemin du Forez (trade and pilgrimage route) marked the limit between the ecclesiastical lordship (the monks are lords of the village) and the county of Forez. This achievement made it possible to cross an arm of the Aix river. But the latter being very capricious and the bridge no longer being adapted to contemporary traffic, the course of the Aix was diverted and a new bridge was built. Today, the Aix no longer flows under the old bridge but the legends endure. Its landscaped banks, tables and play area await you for a serene walk or a family picnic.
