At the heart of the village, the old well, 40 m deep, supplied water to the entire population at the end of the XNUMXth century. Through its history, it now occupies a symbolic role for the inhabitants.
It has been carefully renovated.

All year, every day.

After the well dug in 1882 for the house of the charity office, the municipal council is harassed by the population of the Bourg. The lack of water penalizes more and more the inhabitants of this summit. It was unanimously decided to entrust the construction of a public well to Mr. Billet, an architect from Roanne. Because a voluntary subscription was made by the inhabitants in favor of this project, the work will begin in 1885 and will be disturbed by a petition asking for the removal of a cesspool (WC) existing there for a long time, but now close to all audiences... Satisfaction will be given to them.
