The tower of the old castle remains the most imposing testimony of this medieval village. It was erected in the eleventh century by the lords of Beaujeu to become the keep of the seigneurial castle.

This emblematic monument almost disappeared in the 80s and 90s for security reasons, it being also and above all in a state of ruin.
It was under the mandate of Guy Monroe that the tower was restored.
