This chapel was once the main parish of the town and the village church was attached to it as a chapel. It was partially destroyed and the chapel that exists today was rebuilt around 1850.

All year, every day.
The chapel is closed. On the other hand, it is possible to access the garden surrounding this chapel throughout the year.

The building as we see it today is the result of numerous restorations and alterations which leave little of the original 12th century chapel apart from its simple and stripped-down Romanesque structure certainly in line with the original one. probably built of adobe. Many old stones were included in the walls during successive works, including an altar stone included in the exterior wall to the right of the front door. A curious statue is venerated there, as remarkable in terms of material as in form; indeed, this statue was made by means of lead sheets pushed back with a hammer and welded together. It was sold at the Louvre and is visible at the Richelieu pavilion; other beautiful wooden statues (probably from the 12th century) are still there. Within the grounds of the park welcoming this pretty chapel, there is a spring which would have particular virtues, in particular that of treating eye diseases. Since the 8th century the inhabitants of the neighboring parishes made a pilgrimage there every year on September 1952 to pray to Notre Dame de Baroille. After the interruption of the pilgrimages in 1996, the association "Friends of Notre Dame de Baroille", now owner of this building since 1997 and which has worked for its restoration and maintenance, re-established them in XNUMX. Since then they have brought together a hundred of the faithful very attached to the devotion of Notre Dame de Baroille.
A legend is attached to this chapel “the virgin Mary fleeing the exodus with the child God needed to stop to change his clothes. It was September, it was raining and cold, she tried in vain to light a fire to warm the Divine infant and then succeeded in igniting twigs of green ash wood. (Since that day, ash wood can catch fire even if it is green and damp) after having dried her child's diapers, Marie continued on her way ”.
