Built in 1841 by Abbot Nicolas Granjon, this church is an emblematic building of the St-Romanaise identity.
This building has many assets: Its very characteristic bell tower is the work of the Polish architect Mr. Paszkowicz.

The stained glass windows restored before 1960 of great luminosity with very beautiful details are signed by the Borie du Puy en Velay workshops.
Its headdress, this metal cross surmounted by a lightning rod, was established by M. Lafay de Roanne.
The rare installation of three brass bells since 1854 and 1857, its glazed tiles, the staircase of 102 steps leading to the belvedere perched 24 meters from where you can discover a superb panorama of the Roannais basin and the Monts de the Madeleine, its jacquaire refuge, its exhibition rooms offering a privileged place for regional artists add to the quality of this site and its heritage interest.

Purpose of the site:
The church is a sacred good but also a building that art and the law bequeathed to us… It is open to give visitors the opportunity to discover its architecture and its history. Guided tour of the church and steeple walk on request ...

Stained glass windows in the choir
The three stained glass windows in the choir, as well as the rosettes, are from the BORIE workshop in Puy-En-Velay in 1922.
The first completely deteriorated had already been redone in 1895.

Side Stained Glass
Made by the Mauvernay workshops in Saint Galmier.

The church has a painting on canvas listed in the inventory of historical monuments on April 25, 1961: "Christ with the reed" from the XNUMXth century (under restoration).
It will perhaps be the same one day for the Stations of the Cross, which has a real cachet. He replaced the one in Staff which dated from 1927.
1901: Tabernacle
1931: Door drums
The baptismal font table is in mountain pine. It was bought second-hand in Lyon and is believed to come from La Chaise-Dieu
