Place of pilgrimage, the populations of the neighborhood came to ask for the cure of "fiery fevers" and "evil Saint John" (epilepsy).

A well located near the esplanade of the chapel, topped with a kind of cement dome is still visible today. In the 19th century, its water was said to have the property of curing eye diseases. People flocked from neighboring provinces to drink this water or wash their eyes.

You have to take the road to Saint-Just-en-Chevalet to discover this building dominating the whole countryside. A 180° panoramic view is then offered to the walker who discovers a large number of villages in the Roannaise plain and further on, the Lyonnais mountains.
