To  12th May 2024

For this exhibition, find the emblematic pieces of the Pôle Cuir Aveyron, as well as that of Deguer Maroquinerie, artisan leather goods maker.

How do you transform leather? How do you make a bag, a saddle, gloves? Tanners, tanners, saddlers, bootmakers, leatherworkers and glovemakers pass on gestures inherited over several generations to transform natural materials. They share a love of the material and a passion for the profession. It is a world of finesse with a sense of detail appreciated by the greatest haute couture houses. They convey an international reputation promoting “Made in France”. Discover the collective of professionals of the “Pôle Cuir Aveyron”, the attachment of women and men to their professions, whose work belongs to the cultural heritage.

At the same time, the exhibition presents the work of Leslie Deguernel, a leatherworker installed in one of the workshops of the La Cure nursery since 2023 under the name Deguer Maroquinerie. A set of his creations are on display, including the bag designed with Lebanese artisans as part of the “NAFAS” crafts residency, as well as the armchair made in collaboration with Alban Vizier (L'Ane Rouge - metalworker at La Cure ). Together, they combine their knowledge and know-how to produce unique creations.
