The Aix Valley

Pass in front of the fire station. Turn right and go up to the water tower (Madone and La Sauveté belvedere; orientation table). Turn left towards La Madone, go down below the orientation table and arrive at La Sauveté.

Turn left and go down the path. He turns right (east). Cross the gout de Servaux on the D38 bridge, then climb to the right the road which serves Pré. Continue to climb up to the cross, then go down to the left at the Calvaire des Chazelles.

Follow the small road to the left and, in the bend, take the path to the right which leads to Servaux. Go down the path to the right, cross the D38 and reach the edges of the Aix (viewpoints over the Aix Valley and St Martin La Sauveté).

Take the track to the left which leads to the Chizonnet hydraulic power station. Continue along the path that goes up the Gorges de l'Aix and cross the canal while staying on the same bank of the Aix.

At the crossroads in the undergrowth, continue to the right along the Cours de l'Aix. Ignore the first bridge and continue on the right bank then on the edge of the forest. At the end of the woods, turn right and cross the Pont Rouge.

Take the road on the left towards the specialized institute of education and training (ISEF) of the Château d'Aix. It runs along the left bank of the valley. Near the gymnasium, cross the Aix, continue left for 80 meters and take the grassy path on the right to go alongside the institute. Continue on the D26 for 100 meters then by the wide path on the edge of the Aix.

After the meander, turn left to begin a steep climb in the forest. At the top of the hill, continue to the right on a wide path which leads to Mouchaud. Go right along the D26 for 30 meters then turn right onto the dirt road. Turn right to reach the Croix de la Conche then go up towards the cemetery.
