This circuit takes you to the crest of the Col du Pin Bouchain, at the gates of the Rhône and the Loire. You will discover the magnificent panoramas offered by this walk and flirt with history in the footsteps of Napoleon 1st.

1 - Departure

Town Hall Square.

2 - Step 1

In front of the town hall, follow the D5 towards Amplepuis for 50m. Go down the path to the left, walk along the cemetery and turn left on the tarmacked part.

3 - Step 2

Cross the D5 and follow the small road for 750m. At La Bonnerie, continue along the path. After a right turn, turn left. Then climb through the woods for 500m, then turn right.

4 - Step 3

Take the paved road to the left. Cross the D64 and go up to the edge of the wood. Then continue to an intersection. We discover a beautiful panorama on the plain and the Monts du Forez.

5 - Step 4

On the left, take the GR 7 through the woods and reach an intersection shortly before the Col du Pin Bouchain. Admire another panorama of the Monts de Tarare on the edge of the wood.

6 - Step 5

Turn left at the edge of the woods and go down to La Maconnière, where you can see a panorama of the Plaine de Roanne.

7 - Step 6

At the entrance to the hamlet, take the path to the left parallel to the road. At the crossroads, continue left along the edge of the woods. Then take the D64 to the right for 30m.

8 - Step 7

Turn left and follow the path. Go down the slope to the little Jean-Clair road, turn right and return to the village.
