Join the starting point

1 - Departure

Leave by the Ménard road. Go down the Chemin de la Croix Mission to the left.

2 - Step 1

At the bottom, turn left and go straight to the right. In the purgative broom and the boxwood, descend to the bottom of the valley the path below the cross of Mission.

3 - Step 2

Come out near a bend on the D203 to join the GRP “Autour des Gorges de la Loire”. Go left and cross the road. Continue downstream along the Ris Serpentin and along the Villerest lake.

4 - Step 3

Climb the stairs then the path to reach Saint-Maurice-sur-Loire. Go around the church. Continue to the lake viewpoint.

5 - Step 4

Take the climb to the left until you reach the entrance to the castle. Go down the narrow lane to the left. Go up to the right to pass under the Ris Serpentin gate.

6 - Step 5

Go left to La Cure. Climb the stairs and cross the D203 above the square. Pass to the right of the Sundial Mansion. At the half-timbered house, go down to the right and go up the street (D203 or rue de l'Union) to the left.

7 - Step 6

In the bend, climb the Chemin des Crêtes to the right. Let the GRP go towards Villerest and turn left then take rue de Chassor, on the right, until Place Saint-Jean and your starting point.
