À Ciel Ouvert – Current art tour

À Ciel Ouvert is a biennial of contemporary art taking place in even years, in La Plaine de la Rivoire, a large protected natural area in the commune of Riorges (Loire). The 10 ha plain, classified as a “Remarkable heritage site”, is bordered by the Renaison river. The exhibition allows us to promote this preserved site by bringing the Plastic Arts to meet the population, outdoors, making them accessible to all.
The first edition took place in 2008. The eighth edition will be held from June 8 to November 8, 2024.
Surprising, poetic, monumental, discreet… Each edition allows you to discover nine new works, created specifically for the site by eight professional artistic teams, nationally or internationally renowned. Each installation invites a new sensitive experience allowing us to renew our view of the landscape.
The route is also enriched with a participatory project resulting from workshops conducted over several months and bringing together 200 people and installations from past editions which remain on the site from one edition to the next. There are therefore a total of 11 works to be discovered each time.
A peripheral program combining activities, shows, thematic visits, is offered throughout the duration of the event. Particular attention is paid to citizen mobilization and the multiplication of sensitive approaches.
The event is open and free for 5 months.
