Itinerary details:
From Roanne station, reach the Roanne port captaincy (2 km). Then take the Véloire, a greenway whose route follows the towpath of the Roanne to Digoin canal, nicknamed “the quiet canal”, to the Briennon marina. You pass by the sumptuous abbey of La Bénisson-Dieu, recognizable from afar thanks to its polychrome roof, before joining the Wine Route on the Côte Roannaise and its villages of character: Ambierle with its Cluniac priory or Saint-Haon-le-Châtel , charming medieval village and its Renaissance heritage. (Ideal area to spend the night). Continue to Lake Villerest, an ideal place for family leisure activities and return to Roanne station.
