Villerest is nationally renowned for fishing predators and more particularly pike-perch. This reputation is not usurped. Indeed, the predator population is important: pike, perch and catfish thrive in these waters.

All year.

This reservoir of 770 hectares extends over approximately 30 km, from Balbigny to Villerest. The landscape is very diverse and varied and offers multiple possibilities for fishermen.
The upstream part of the dam is fairly accessible from the edge since the RD 56 runs along the right bank (up to the Pinay dike).
Further downstream, the steeper landscape offers magnificent views and boat fishing is very popular with the possibility of launching mainly in Villerest or Bully.
A large area allows carp fishing at night.
Finally, special mention is made of a course of about 2 km located in the town of Villerest called "Chemin de Grézelon". This arranged course allows the fishermen of the edge to understand the physiognomy of the places and the habits of the fish (educational panels).
