At the Portes de Riorges, the Parc des Élopées is an oasis of biodiversity. Enclosed in the city and preserved, this wetland of 10 ha fed by the water table, shelters protected species such as the marsh hottony or the newts.

From 01 / 01 to 31 / 12.

An oasis of nature in the city: Roannais agglomeration manages the Parc des Élopées in the most natural way possible. Maintenance is limited to what is strictly necessary and the meadows are mown by a farmer to make hay.
This natural place is now accessible to walkers who will be able to reconnect with nature by following a path decorated with informative and fun panels.

To allow the connection between the various poles which surround this site, Roannais Agglomeration decided to create a pedestrian path. Awareness panels have also been installed. They present the site and its points of interest: the ponds, the pruning of pollarded willows, the reed bed, the history of the marsh or the fight against knotweed.

You can get to the Parc des Élopées by 3 entrances:
- At the Galliéni roundabout on West Boulevard
- In the street Youri Gagarin
- In rue Antoine Burelier
