Since 1536, we have been producing red and rosé wines. In 1896, cellars were built by the same masons as the Tâche dam in Renaison, they allowed the production of the first sparkling wines from the Côte Roannaise.

AOC Côte Roannaise - IGP urfé - Quality Traditional Method Wine
Types of wine: Red, White, Rosé, Pays d'Urfé wines, Sparkling wines
Grape varieties: Gamay, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir.

We continue this production using the Champagne method or the traditional method that we use in sparkling white and rosé wines. Since then, Maison Clair has continued to defend superior quality, worthy of the greatest Champagnes.

Maison Clair is a wine estate on the Côte Roannaise, located in Renaison in the Loire (42). It has been producing Côte Roannaise since 1536 (date of the oldest document found in the family). In 1896, cellars topped with large storerooms were built by Jean-Baptiste Clair who hired the masons who worked on the construction of the Tâche dam in Renaison. These vaulted cellars from the end of the 1994th century allowed the production of the first sparkling wines from the Côte Roannaise. Since this time, Maison JB Clair has been producing sparkling wines using the same method as Champagne, it is a Traditional Method in Rosé and Whites, Brut or Demi-Sec (sweet). At the same time, with obtaining the AOC in 2007, it continued the production of Côte Roannaise Rouge and Rosé AOC, as well as Blanc en Vin de Pays d'Urfé. Since XNUMX, the operation has been run by Guido D'Antonio and his wife Claudine Clair who recently joined him.

For visits to the 8th century vaulted cellars, tasting and sales, Maison JB Clair is open every day from 30:12 a.m. to 30:14 p.m. and from 30:18 p.m. to 30:06 p.m. by appointment at 66 04 69 81 XNUMX on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays .
