All year, every day.
Built between the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries, the Château d'Urfé was born from the desire to observe the region from an exceptional belvedere.
The fruit of rivalries between great lords, it became the seat of the Urfé family, which established itself as one of the most powerful in the Forez region and whose aura extended even to the entourage of the King of France.
Open to all and in all seasons, a route with signs is available allowing you to discover the strengths of the castle, from the arboretum to the dungeon. The latter offers a point of view and an orientation table that will allow you to discover or rediscover the region.
It is also a remarkable stopping place during a hike.
The association for the Renaissance of Urfé aims to safeguard the remains of the castle, the maintenance and development of the surroundings of the building, the preservation and cultural enhancement of the site.
It is part of the REMPART federation (rehabilitation and maintenance of monuments of artistic heritage). Every summer a team of volunteers works on the castle from mid-July to mid-August.
Every August 15, visits to the site and the castle are organized.
The castle is open to everyone, all year round, every day. Entrance is free. Guided tours for groups and individuals are possible depending on the availability of activity leaders and the seasons.
