At Roannais Tourisme, we love producers and their good products. Our producers and short circuits have been more in the spotlight since the various confinements from 2020, being close to home. Everyone was able to (re)discover local know-how to eat in the most local and eco-responsible way possible. So, shall we continue? Let's discover the good plans to adopt to try to promote responsible consumption.

At the producer

On the Côte Roannaise, go through the gate of the Boisy Farm, GAEC producing cow's cheese, cold meats and meat. Not far from here, discover Meadow of Here for vegetables and other local products from associated producers.

Also, in Cremeaux, canned vegetables, seasonal vegetables and free-range chickens are available to you at the store. ESAT La Plume Verte.
A package ? Collect your order by click & collect at Urfé Limousine Farm or even on the farm The Forest Goats to Lay.

Aux Noës, a cheese vending machine, isn't that the dream? Finally, at the heart of mounts of the Madeleine, climb up to the Noës Farm.

Producers in Souternon, Garden Squares offer you two formats of vegetable baskets delivered to your home or to a collection point, enough to make your drive balanced for your small dishes!

On the stairs

Difficult to get to the producer? Opt for a Roannais market where you can find fresh, seasonal and local products in the various stands:

  • The Gardens of Bois Joli, market gardener in Organic Agriculture is present on different markets in Roanne and on the Côte Roannaise: Monday in Ambierle, Friday in Roanne and Saturday in Renaison,
  • Wild Flavors offers you certified products to keep “My region, its terroirs” Wednesday in Coteau, Friday in Roanne and Saturday in Charlieu,
  • For local flour, opt for The Windmill of La Tuilière in Villemontais on Wednesday and Saturday in La Tuilière. Choose according to your desires: wholemeal, semi-wholemeal or white flour,
  • Organic vegetable market gardener and meat producer, find Mickaël Rollet in Roanne on Tuesday and Friday morning,
  • And to accompany all these good foods and dishes that you will make with talent, choose a sourdough bread baked in the wood oven of the Oppidum bakehouse, Wednesday in Villemontais, Friday in Saint-Cyr-de-Favières and Saturday in Roanne.

Roannais is a land of gastronomy. The restaurateurs are therefore keen to work with passion on local products in order to offer you the most beautiful dishes, reflecting an important link between producers and restaurateurs.

Winegrowers, committed producers

The wines from the Côte Roannaise are also local products, high quality and rich in flavors. No less than 35 estates share 215 hectares of vines and thus produce a very wide range of wines which will accompany your dishes, from aperitif to dessert.
Nearly 80% of the estates are in Organic Agriculture or in conversion, a guarantee of quality and preservation of the territory.

A flagship event

The town of Roanne See you on June 2 in the Pralus Gardens and the Renaison Park for a day under the theme “Let’s preserve our health, let’s protect our environment”. On the program: workshops, visits, markets... so many activities to raise awareness of the environment and good products.
Also, think about your basket for the farmers' market and stock up on good products while enjoying a lively day.

As you will have understood, in Roannais, many possibilities exist to consume in a short circuit towards our local producers to buy better and eat better. A territory that lives up to its reputation: healthy and delicious!




Parachuted onto the Roan Coast ten years ago, I am therefore a (grown-up) child of the coast, a musician, often present at large or small events and sensitive to the heritage riches of our territory. Loving good restaurants, I easily give in to local restaurants and products... So, ready to follow my experiences?
