1 - Departure
Leave the port behind you and take the climb of stairs then cross at the traffic lights. Cross the place Aristide Briand. Cross the rue Hoche bridge. Take the 1st right, Quai du Renaison, then right, Passage Gerbay.
2 - Step 1
Take rue du Moulin Populle on the left, at the forbidden direction sign. In front of the Saint Louis church. Cross and turn left rue de Clermont, then 1st right (rue Général Giraud).
3 - Step 2
Take the small gore path on the left, along the Renaison. Cross the bridge, then pass in front of the nautical center, cross the car park and follow the road for 100 m. Take the gore path to the left and walk along the Renaison. Go behind the ice rink. Take the path that goes under the road and follow the river to Parc Beaulieu.
4 - Step 3
Cross the road and follow the river. Take the footbridge on your left and cross the Renaison. A little further on, cross the river again. Take the Chemin du Lavoir, continue on the road. Turn left and cross the road to Saint Alban (D31) to take the allée de Neubourg then the chemin de la Grande Prairie, straight ahead. Cut the D51 and take the Allée du Verdier.
5 - Step 4
Turn right and follow the D9 for 50 m then cross to take the path to the aerodrome. Continue straight until the airport. Turn right onto the airport road, then turn left onto Chemin Hélène Boucher. Follow this path to the 1st crossroads and turn right. At the next crossroads, turn right again. Continue straight on Chemin de Combre. Turn left onto the road to St-Romain (ascent to Gros Chêne). At the next crossroads, turn right. In the hamlet, turn left (Chemin Marc Sangnier). At the end of the alley, turn right onto Chemin de Beaucueil. Continue on the left in rue Marcelle Griffon to enter the activity zone.
6 - Step 5
Turn left onto the boulevard, cross the La Villette area. Cross the bridge over the Oudan, then turn right past the company Valentin Traiteur and advance to the Demi-Lieue roundabout. Then go up to the right towards the bridge. A little before this bridge, take a path on the left which will lead you to rue Jean Moulin. Left to the railway line. Follow the railway line to the left until the crossroads with avenue Charles de Gaulle.
7 - Step 6
Cross and continue along the railway line by the small gore path. Leave the railway line by taking the 1st path on the left. Cross the Oudan by the small wooden bridge. Walk along the Mâtel stadium.
At the end of the stadium, after the car park, turn left into rue Jean Bailly then right into rue Marcel Proust.
8 - Step 7
Cross the rue Anatole France and the ring road by the footbridge. Take the paved road on the left. Turn left into rue Rimbaud. At the stop sign, right. At the next stop sign, turn left, then straight ahead. Pass the Louise Michel park. Turn right into rue de la Billodière and enter a pedestrian alley on the left. In front of the gym, take the Allée de Marly opposite.
9 - Step 8
Cross the D39 and head towards the roundabout. Cross the road to Briennon (D43) and follow the small gore path. Turn right and go around the Etang du Merlin. Turn right again and continue straight until the canal bridge.
10 - Step 9
Cross the bridge and take the towpath towards Roanne on your right. Continue for nearly 9 km.
11 - Step 10
Arrived in front of the port of Roanne, bypass the harbor master's office on the left and walk along the Loire. Then go back down to your starting point.
