Join the starting point

1 - Departure

On leaving the station, turn right and walk along the cinema to the roundabout.

2 - Step 1

Cross and descend the stairs to reach the gardens of the Place des Promenades. Cross the square then enter the Parc du Musée Déchelette. In front of the sub-prefecture, turn right into rue Déchelette then left into rue Anatole France. At the Swiss crossroads, go down rue Jean Jaurès to the right, pass in front of the town hall and continue straight until the roundabout.

3 - Step 2

Go right along the roundabout and cross the avenue at the traffic lights. Go down to the port of Roanne. Take the quai de l'Ile, climb towards the dike and the Quai du Commandant Fourcault. Follow the Allée Merveilleux du Vignaud to the fire station.

4 - Step 3

Go down towards the Loire to take the path of the edges of the Loire. Follow the path, pass under the road bridge, skirt the gardens and the wastewater treatment plant to reach the Mâtel gravel pits.

5 - Step 4

Go around the gravel pits and walk along the Loire to the Pont d'Aiguilly. Turn left along the shooting range. Continue opposite and join the canal.

6 - Step 5

Fork left on the towpath. Continue along the water's edge.

7 - Step 6

At the fire station, cross the bridge on your right and continue to the left to walk along the basin.

8 - Step 7

At the end of the basin, cross rue du Quai du Commandant Lherminier then avenue de Lyon. Take rue des Minimes to find rue Jean Jaurès and return to your starting point.
